Knights of Columbus Insurance:

                Protecting Families since 1882

The founder of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Michael J. McGivney, had seen too many families left destitute when the breadwinner died an untimely death. He envisioned an organization that would enable Catholic men to join together to ensure that their families would be protected against such a disaster. For 135 years, the Knights of Columbus has embraced his vision, and has become one of the largest and most highly rated insurance companies in North America, with over $105 billion of life insurance in force. Every year since 1975, Knights of Columbus Insurance has earned the top rating of A++ (Superior) from A.M. Best, a global leader in the rating and credit analysis of insurance companies. Knights of Columbus has been named a "World's Most Ethical Company" in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. There is no insurer in North America with a higher rating.

One of the most important benefits of membership in the Knights of Columbus is the opportunity to secure financial protection for your family with financial products that include both whole life and term insurance, long-term care, disability insurance and annuities.

Virginia Knights are served by three Knights of Columbus insurance agencies, comprised of dozens of professionally-trained field agents who are brother Knights, fellow parishioners, and who sell only Knights of Columbus financial products. There's an agent assigned to your council, to help you determine your family's financial needs, and to be there to help when help is needed.

The Abbate Agency is headed by General Agent Robert Abbate, and serves Knights in the Richmond Diocese.

The Ulmer Agency is headed by General Agent James Ulmer, and serves Knights in the Arlington Diocese.

The Canter Agency is headed by General Agent Harry Canter, and serves Knights in some Northern Virginia councils as well as those in the District of Columbia and Southern Maryland.
